North Tahoe features cuisine good enough to match the scenery. From fine-dining gourmet kitchens to authentic fish taco stands to casual down-home diners, you’ll find a restaurant (or two or three) to match your appetite. The North Tahoe Visitor’s Bureau has a searchable database of deliciousness to make grazing the fantastic offerings quick and easy, but here a few not to miss.
Fiamma Cucina Rustica: Fiamma Cucina Rustica is a North Tahoe institution, offering authentic northern Italian fare and an extensive wine list in an intimate and inviting setting. Reservations are a must, and all of your senses will thank you.
Log Cabin Cafe: For a filling and delicious breakfast, hit the Log Cabin Cafe in Kings Beach. With creative menu items (green eggs and ham, anyone?) and fresh ingredients, this cabin on the lake is a North Tahoe favorite.
Lanza's Restaurant: Lanza’s Restaurant in Kings Beach has the best Italian food at Lake Tahoe at the best price. This family restaurant has been tops on our list for the past 20 years and within walking distance of our Kings Beach condos (2/10mile).
Lone Eagle Grill: Lone Eagle Grill at the Hyatt Regency in Incline Village is right on the beach. This is a great place to watch the sunset. Drinks at the bar are the best bet to enjoy the show. The restaurant is pricey and the food is acceptable, but some dishes are ho-hum. The real attraction is the ambience with the high vaulted ceilings and massive stone fireplace and a view to die for.
Cafe Biltmore: Café Biltmore at Tahoe Biltmore Hotel and Casino in Crystal Bay, NV is the best unadvertised secret on the lake. Full breakfast is $1.99, but you have to ask for it or you will be charged double that amount. The cafe is a pleasant location, service is fast, and if you walk out of there the least bit hungry, you didn't apply yourself.
